ISMAR 2013 will have Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) sessions. BOFs provide the opportunity for groups of people who share interests, goals, technologies, environments, or backgrounds to meet at ISMAR2013 to conduct informal presentations, discussions and/or demonstrations.
BOFs are open to registered ISMAR2013 attendees, and Birds-of-a-Feather events can be proposed and must be chaired by a registered ISMAR2013 attendee. A BOF event must be free of charge (above and beyond ISMAR registration), related to augmented and mixed reality, open to all ISMAR2013 attendees, and avoid focusing solely on a commercial product or for-profit company’s goals.
ISMAR2013 will assign rooms with AV support in the conference hotel on a first-come first-served basis. ISMAR2013 attendees will be free to join BOF sessions on a first-come first-served basis, subject to the maximum capacity of the room.
BOF events will take place only during the designated sessions. See calendar of available BOF meeting sessions. It is the responsibility of the BOF proposer to examine the main conference session schedule and to select a time that minimizes potential for overlapping interests.
All Birds of a Feather requests are subject to a review and approval process.
Procedure
Once you have registered for ISMAR2013, please use this form to submit your request for a Birds of a Feather session. Your proposal will be promptly reviewed by the ISMAR BOF committee and you will be notified by e-mail of our decision within 1 week.
The chair of a BOF session grants ISMAR2013 permission to provide his/her e-mail address on the BOF schedule and descriptions web page and attendees will be directed to the BOF session chair for all inquiries.
The chair of a BOF will be entirely responsible for promotion of the BOF, invitations and other arrangements.
BOF submissions will be accepted as long as there remains room in the reserved rooms for this purpose during designated sessions. For your BOF request to have the best chance of being granted, we recommend that the subject be clear and the purpose of the BOF compelling.
