Welcome to ISMAR 2012!

Advance Program

The table below gives an overview of the ISMAR 2012 Schedule. We are excited with the quality of the research program this year, and very pleased to be able to return the ISMAR research program to a single-track format, ensuring all attendees have the opportunity to see all of the sessions.

New to ISMAR this year are the Doctoral Symposium on Monday and the Birds-of-a-Feather sessions happening throughout the conference. While the Doctoral Symposium session is only open to the participating students and mentors, be sure to look for the student's posters in the poster session! Please see the BOF page for information on scheduling a BOF if you have a topic you would be interested in talking with other like-minded attendees about, and for seeing what BOFs have been scheduled already.

Lunch in the hotel dining room is included with your conference registration, allowing us to use an extended lunch time for the interactive parts of the program. The ISMAR poster session will take place during lunch on Tuesday, the first day of the conference. Attendees will have lunch in one of two lunch sessions in the Hotel dining room, and see posters during the remaining time. Similarly, the second demo session will happen at lunch on Thursday, the final day of the conference, with a similar divided lunch schedule. By dividing the attendees in half, we hope to allow the poster and demo sessions to feel less crowded, allowing more meaningful interaction between the poster presenters, demoers, and attendees.

On Wednesday at lunch, we have arranged for local demos at Georgia Tech's GVU Center and Center for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (RIM). Together, these research center's bring together over a hundred researchers from disciplines across Georgia Tech's campus (including engineering, computing, architecture, and the digital humanities), with research spanning robotics, computer vision, computational perception, HCI, graphics, augmented and mixed reality, health, design, cognitive science, education, architecture and gaming.

(Note: The content of each session is listed separately on the appropriate pages for each session, in the Sessions part of the website.)
